This is for Henry!!

(Click on the picture to read the comic in larger print)
I truly appreciate the hard time that Henry gives my cousin Karyn. Since I am unable to see her often I appreciate the time and effort he puts into giving her grief. He has given her a nickname that I just love but will not publish on the internet. All those in Rockford will know exactly what it is, however. If someone could please inform Henry of my post I woould appreciate it because this is for him.

To the Rockford Crew

I wanted to let you all know that I have not forgotten about putting Grace's wedding pictures on my blog or sending out the Cd's. It has been a really long week with all sorts of things going on. I will hopefully be posting a slideshow of the best pictures this weekend. I want to also try to burn the picture Cd's and get them off to you as well.

I had a great time and thank you for letting em share in such a special moment with your family and friends. I hope to see some of you in the Cities for Labor Day!!

Addicted to Running

I ran my first mile without stopping on Tuesday, May 23rd. I felt like I was going to die. But on Friday, May 26th I ran what I thought was 2 miles without stopping. However, on Saturday I decided to see just how far I had run because it seemed way longer than 2 miles. Indeed it was 2.8 miles. If I had only know I would have run two more blocks to make it an even 3 miles!! On Memorial day I ran a mile as fast as I could and it turned out not to be so fast, 15 1/2 minutes. Today however I ran a mile in 12 1/2 minutes. I first had a goal of a seven minute mile until I found out that it is hard for a guy to run a mile that fast. I am rethinking my end of the summer goal to 9 minutes.

I am also shooting for a Tri-athlon in September. I would be swimming 1/2 a mile, biking 18 miles, and then running 5 miles. It is my summer goal to complete this, even if I am the last person across the finish line. I will still have completed it!! Please pray that I will continue to train and I am able to see the Lord help me accomplish my goals. I know that I would not be this far it is wasn't for Him helping me every step of the way.

Behind a Frowning Providence, He hides a Smiling Face

This is an email that I received from very good friends of mine. Please take a moment to read it over. It shows God's amazing love!

I Peter 1:3, 6-7 "Praise be to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope. . . In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so your faith - of greater worth than gold which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

Hello Dear Family,

Yesterday we had a tremendous thunder storm with lightening, thunder, and lots of rain. This morning the sky is blue and the sun is peaking up over the horizon bringing with this new and beautiful day, fresh hope in our desire to build a family. God has filled Mistin and I with fresh hope this last week. There's been a lot of rain falling the last couple years, but the forecast is all sunshine right now!

First, it looks like Ciara will soon become our child through adoption.

Second, well. . . look at the picture. In one of the busiest months of our lives (seminary and two foster babies) without the help of any charting, hormones, or physician assistance, God has smiled upon us and we are in awe.

Amazed by God's Grace,

Dennis & Mistin

Weight Loss Update

Things are going well since my last report. I have lost 88 pounds so far. My weight loss has begun to slow down, so now I am really going to have to start working. Previously all I had to do was be there. Please pray that I will be able to eat as I should and I will have the desire to exercise. I would like to continue to be successful in my weight loss, but I knwo that it will only be by god's grace. Thank you for your prayers.

Singles How Down

The last weekend of April the singles had a Hoe Down to kick off the summer. We had it all. A barbaque, square dancing, and we even dressed up in western attire. Take a look at a few of the pictures. If I knew how I would upload the video that was taken of us square dancing but I don't know how, sorry about that!!

The Yoder Boys

Here is a new picture of the Yoder boys. Everyone is doing well. All of Christian's check-ups so far have been very good and all is well. Praise the Lord for his goodness to the Yoder family in protecting their newest addition.

It is still hard to get Christian to look at the camera!!

The Harvey Twins

I went to visit Stephanie and the girls last week. Here are a few pictures that I took while I was there.

Reagan taking a snooze!!

Kieran being a stinker already!!

I didn't take this one but Steph sent it to me and I think it is great. They start off apart but have figured out how to get together to snuggle whiel they sleep.

Visit to the Zoo

Kelsey and I took the boys to the zoo a couple weekends ago. It was a fun time but it was raining so we had to stay inside the whole time. I am looking forward to a time when I can take them again when it isn't raining.

The Snow Leopard was fascinated with Uri and vice versa!!

A Weekend Getaway to the Country

This weekend I went down to Welcome, MN with Lydia, Amber and Andrea. We had a blast. We were down there to visit Curt, Sarah, and Megan Gwin. I have known GreenBean, as I affectionately call her, since my freshmen year of college. We had a blast down there in the country. It was so refreshing to not see traffic backed up, this weekend they closed 2 of the major highways in the cities. I also enjoyed my time with Curt, Sarah and Megan. She is adorable. Here are a few pictures. I will probably put more on especially of me on the tractor.

The Twins were Born

On Saturday, April 1st my co-worker had her twin girls. They are 7 weeks premature but doing wonderful. Reagan Amelia was born first weighing 3 lbs 9oz. She is currently weighing in at 3 lbs 13 oz. While Reagan was in the womb she had her bigger but little sister pinned in a headlock. I am sure she is going to give her parents a hard time.

Reagan the day after she was born.

Reagan 5 days after she was born.

Kieran Olivia was born second. She is the little bigger sister. She weighed 4lbs 5 oz when she was born. Kieran will probably be able to go home sooner than Reagan because she is eating really well and making tons of progress. It doesn't hurt that she is a pound larger than her older sister!

Mom and babies are doing well. I will be adding more pictures as they come to me. Continue to pray for their speedy release from the hospital.

Night On the Town

On April 1st we finally had a birthday celebration for myself, Amber and Andrea. It has been so busy with us here at church that we never had the chance to celebrate. We decided to head to a place in downtown Minneapolis called The Times Bar and Cafe. It was an enjoyable evening with a live Jazz band. Here are a few pictures of our fun time. I never did get a chnace for a group picture so you will have to settle for some individual ones.
